Overview
We require an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to work alongside the existing team on a successful dairy business near Northwich in Cheshire.
The farm has made significant investment over the past few years resulting in outstanding facilities and working environment for both staff and cow and now require an assistant manager to share day-day responsibilities with the manager and help progress the business further. New cow housing and a new parlour (with auto ID and rumination collars) and all labour saving devices have recently been installed to milk the herd of 650 cows which are milked 3 times a day, housed all year round and are currently averaging over 38 litres / day.
The successful candidate will need to be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who has extremely high standards with a particular eye for attention to detail, able to think for themselves and be able to run all elements of a large, modern dairy herd when required. Communication and being a team player are the most important qualities we are looking for in someone for this role. Staff retention is extremely good due to the existing team morale. Foot trimming and AI are essential for this role.
